mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 10, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy orange body with a sparse white ring of head. The aroma is quite refreshing and floral with spicy notes and bread. Flavour is somewhat watery and thin. There are some spicy notes along with pear and fruit flavours. Decent
RunDWP (110), San Jose, California, USA May 15, 2008 22 oz bottle. Poured a golden yellow with a think white head that didn’t last long. Slight yeasty aroma. Very yesty taste with a spicy zing to it. Some light fruit note. The problem for me was that the high alcohol content slightly dominated the lighter flavors. Like Bison Brewing’s Organic Barlywine, some nice flavors are out of balance adding up to something not as good as it could be. beachbum25 (583), Powellville, Maryland, USA May 2, 2008 22 oz Bomber-trade w/Snojerk321. Cloudy golden color w/a slight white head & good lacing. Sweet Belgian aroma. Kind of a standard Belgian Blonde, sweet flavors of candied sugar, banana, vanilla, green apple, & a little colander. Had a bit of a dry finish to it. Easy drinking brew w/solid flavor, particularly for an organic. kiefdog (325), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 30, 2008 50cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Florida). Pours golden reddish caramel with a one finger white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Smells of ripe cherries and plums with a faint caramel-like sweetness and slight bitterness. Flavor is much of the same with a slight bitterness throughout. Hints of assorted ripe fruit on finish. Faint taste of vanilla and banana on subsequent tastes. jmuhops (651), Winchester, Virginia, USA Mar 29, 2008 Pours clear gold-orange with a respectable head. Aroma of spices and paper, with some sweet maltiness. Flavor starts out good with some bread, candi sugar, and light fruit, but it quickly turns metallic, with needle-like carbonation. The finish is stale hops, plastic, and metal. It’s funny how an organic beer can taste so man-made. jjuf1853 (175), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Mar 28, 2008 Bottle pours a cloudy golden color with a dense white head. Light floral aroma with hints of fruit, hops, and spices. Mild but flavorful with a dry aftertaste of apple. Not bad...one of the better organic beers I’ve tried.
