brokensail (10645) - Orange County, California, USA - APR 27, 2012
Dark brown in color with an off-white head. Not a good nose. Soapy as hell, a bit of wax, and some water. There is mild bourbon aroma and a bit of oak. Not much in the way of brown ale, though. The flavor isnt much different. Watery and bland with a bit of soap, bread, and bourbon barrel. Not awful/offensive, but not enjoyable either.

BMan1113VR (7834) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 27, 2011
On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours with a hazy brown body and a lasting off-white head. Aroma smells pretty nice with hints of bourbon, esters, rich malty, chocolate, brown sugar, oak and some tannin. Flavors are not as nice. Very watery for a big beer, very thin, dry and tannin laden. Some brown sugar, and oak, not much else. Medium bubbles.

Draft. Brown beer with a dark cream colored head. Malt and light nutty aroma with light caramel. Bourbon and sweet malt flavor with caramel. Medium bodied. Bourbon and sweet malt lingers.

Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAR 7, 2011
Faint chocolate aroma mingles with bourbon notes. A cola colored pour with an off-white frothy head. Initial rye taste with bready flavors following. Little hop flavor other than the bitter finish. Alcohol warmth and slickness present. Medium body. Slightly oaky but a smooth boozy brown ale.

On tap at Bobby Gs. Pours a brownish amber with a small white head that has good retention and leaves a decent amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma is is bourbon, vanilla, caramel, light floral hops, and light alcohol. The initial taste is sweet caramel going into some vanilla and light bourbon. The finish is warm with a bit of alcohol and a light bitterness. Medium body. Medium-light carbonation. Pretty tasty beer.
