2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Serving: Draft. It pours a dark brown color with a small head. The nose has light notes of earthy chocolate and cocoa powder. The flavor has an earthy bitterness with watery roasted malt, thin chocolate, and a light nuttiness. Not the best combination. Thin on the palate with a weak finish. Pass on this one.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a translucent brownish black with bubbly ring of brown head that dissipates. Aroma of chocolate and soy, taste follows, like a dry stout with extra chocolate flavor. Meh.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured from a bottle into a chilled craft beer glass tapered at top. Created a head at least 2 inches, stayed halfway through. Cocoa aroma with a bittersweet chocolate taste. Good beer to pair with light, salty snacks. Nice occasional beer.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark black with no head. Aroma is raisins, coffee, and chocolate. Tastes like weak coffee with a bitter unsweetened chocolate after thought dancing on the back of the tongue.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a small tan head and a bit of lacing that mostly slides back down into the beer. Aroma of milk chocolate, dark roast coffee, hazelnut, and a hint of vanilla. Very roasty. Taste is bittersweet chocolate, dark roast coffee, toffee, hazelnut, and black liquorice. Hop bitterness actually comes through pretty well. Full bodied, but the texture is a little thin with medium carbonation and a long finish of roasted malts. This is far more drinkable than it should be. Very flavorful, but not completely overwhelming.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: near black, with two fingers of silky, creamy dark brown head and decent lacing. Aroma: milk and dark chocolate, granite dust, chalk, cream, hint of peanut shell and café mocha. Taste: more coffee in the taste than the aroma, with decent bittersweet dark chocolate to balance. Finish: smooth, slightly mineral, dry, and a bit bitter. Notes: Better than average chocolate stout, and WAY better as it warmed up. First sip I was all like "eww" but by the end I was all like "not bad, brah".

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light nutty aroma but a surprising lack of aroma. hmm. Nigerian black color with a dark brown head. Has a very subtle zing at first then the strange sensation that i can only compare to cheaply cut cocaine. Shitty if i would have paid $50 for that taste but since it was only a buck 70, i’m ok with it. Still it has some artificial tone to it. uneventful.
