Dark brown with a thick brown slowly fading topper. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is more of the same. Semi-bitter finish. Something about this one was a bit off… I mean it was okay, but nothing stellar.

Aroma is chocolate and mildly nutty. The flavor is roasted malts, mildly sweet chocolate and a fruity undertone.

Poured from my bottle a light black with tan head. The aroma was bitter sweet chocolate, malts, and yeast. Taste was light chcocolate, a malty backbone, and undertone of breadiness. Overall a decent beer, I was wishing for more of the chocolatey-bittersweet to come through tho. Not a great beer, but still highly drinkable.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque deep ruby brown with 2-finger brown head and very good lacing. Aroma of chocolate and coffee with a slight smokey aroma. Taste of chocolate, toasted malt and coffee. Medium body and above average carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Originally reviewed: 4/13/10. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a dark brownish black with a reddish tint to the edges. A big frothy tan head caps it off. Decent retention; left some pretty lace behind. Scents of cocoa powder, dark breads, and plums. The body is crisp, yet smooth. Decent feel. Flavor of cocoa, milky sweetness, graham cracker crust, and some breadiness. Bitterness is low. This is what it is. A chocolate stout with plenty of chocolate-character. Not bad.

nice balance of chocolate leaves a very pleasant after taste - dark chocolatey pour - a really solid stout

Bottle -- solid black color with a mocha, frothy head. No chocolate noted in the aroma, just some nutty malt. Roasted malt taste with some sweetness, chocolate follows and become more noticeable as the brew warms. Some of the bitterness come through on the end. Overall, it feels a bit thinner than what I anticipated. Produce place 1.49.

With a boastful, horned moniker like Bison you would expect more than a diluted, soapy beer with only hints of chocolate and mild coffee grinds. The stout isn’t terrible, but it has the mediocre slushiness that a bargain bin brewing kit would make. An alright session beer to have over a wedge of cheesecake, this chocolate stout is perfectly okay to drink - if someone else is paying for it.

Bottle pours dark brown with some light tan head. Aromas are roasted malt and chocolate. Tastes are roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Body is medium with a longish coffee finish for the style. Overall, decent.

Deeps dark roasted malt. Not sure where the chocolate is. Maybe it's bakers chocolate. Too bitter for a stout. Not great ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
