COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
West Coast Ale brewed with a blend of the season’s best organic hops, hand-selected by Bison’s brewmaster and owner, Dan Del Grande.

Like California sunshine in a bottle, Hop Cuvée radiates a golden hue with brilliant clarity and bright effervescence. It is a crisp, citrusy and tropical ale with a touch of pine-like bitterness and a clean, dry finish. Refreshing and sessionable, Hop Cuvée satisfies both hop lovers and craft beer newbies. Clear golden coloured body with only a hint of a light tan head and no movement at all. Nice fresh smell of hops, earth, funk, barnyard scents, hay, grass and yeast - a very fresh smell throughout with some fresh hops in the mix. Light-bodied; Sharp grassy flavour up front with a deep earhy and yeast kick, all with some lighter hops finishing up the beer. Aftertaste shows some grassy notes, a hint of citrus, a little bit of sweetness and a largely strong barnyardie flavour that persists. Overall, a decent APA with more grassy and herbal notes than I’d expect, but not in a bad way. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Falls Church (Tyson’s Corner), Virginia on 15-July-2014 for US$2,49 sampled at my brother-in-law’s house in Raleigh, North Carolina at 02-August-2014.

On tap at NAOBF. Pours a golden color with a medium white head. A sweet nose with oranges, some hay and vanilla. The flavor is bitter hops, vanilla, orange peel. Hmmm. Odd brew. Good.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with floating bits o’ goodness. Aroma is floral, clover honey, citrus hops, caramel malt, doughy yeast. Flavor is predominantly honey, floral hops. The malt contributes to the sweetness but a nice balance. This is a very delicious smooth ale. Very impressed.

Light gold hazy color with small off-white head and some lacing. Aroma and flavor have nice bitter, vegetabley hops. Piney and resinous, but not overwhelming. Finished with bready malts. Pretty good overall

World Market. Standard longneck, bad label, bad cap. Hazy, toffee blonde beer with a lacy white head. Hoppy, lemony aroma, with sturdy dry malt. I’m fighting the lingering gasoline smell on my hands from changing the sparkies on the ’66. Smooth and refreshing flavor - hoppy, but has a good balance with the malting. Slightly heavy bittering, faint twists of pith, dry caramel/toffee. Satisfying mouthfeel, pleasant trailing bitterness but doesn’t get clingy. You could do worse than investing in 6 of these.

Bottle at America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours hazy amber with small off-white head. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with notes of citrus and touches of grass. Bitter and slightly acidic finish. Decent.
