COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
West Coast Ale brewed with a blend of the season’s best organic hops, hand-selected by Bison’s brewmaster and owner, Dan Del Grande.

Like California sunshine in a bottle, Hop Cuvée radiates a golden hue with brilliant clarity and bright effervescence. It is a crisp, citrusy and tropical ale with a touch of pine-like bitterness and a clean, dry finish. Refreshing and sessionable, Hop Cuvée satisfies both hop lovers and craft beer newbies. 12oz bottle - Aroma - citrusy, rose petals with some bready malts Appearance - hazy amber body, 2-finger head, nice retention though little lacing Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium carbonation, lightly puckering Flavor - malty, herbal hops, light vegetal notes and a touch of tea notes, like some crystal malt was overused maybe. Overall - tasty enough beverage to give a recommendation on it but just barely. Will try at the brewery in Berkeley.

Pretty nice pour but I see the descript says brilliant clarity, not. There are lots of precipitants floating around in this beer. Nice rocky head from a bottle. Smell is slightly off dull hops. Yes, lots of hops in this pale ale, and its bitter, but bitter in an almost imperceptible way compared to an IPA. Yes, mild IPA thing happening here. Bitterness grows during the session and manifests itself into a near medicinal feel on the palate. Yes, bitter thing on the finish fer sure, lasts for a while. Not impressed but not over the top either I guess.

12 oz bottle at Rendezvous Bar in St Augustine, FL The APA poured a light amber with a small head and modest lacing. The nose detected a mix of resin and citrus. The flavor is of mild floral hops. The ale had a medium body with average carbonation. The ale finishes with a mild bitterness that lingers. Organic Pale Ales seem to fall short of most non-organic ales.

Pours a hazy golden with a decent head. Fine aromas of citrus, peach, and pine. The taste is a bit muddled, but OK. Nice beer, but not special.

Clear golden coloured body with only a hint of a light tan head and no movement at all. Nice fresh smell of hops, earth, funk, barnyard scents, hay, grass and yeast - a very fresh smell throughout with some fresh hops in the mix. Light-bodied; Sharp grassy flavour up front with a deep earhy and yeast kick, all with some lighter hops finishing up the beer. Aftertaste shows some grassy notes, a hint of citrus, a little bit of sweetness and a largely strong barnyardie flavour that persists. Overall, a decent APA with more grassy and herbal notes than I’d expect, but not in a bad way. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Falls Church (Tyson’s Corner), Virginia on 15-July-2014 for US$2,49 sampled at my brother-in-law’s house in Raleigh, North Carolina at 02-August-2014.
