COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
West Coast Ale brewed with a blend of the season’s best organic hops, hand-selected by Bison’s brewmaster and owner, Dan Del Grande.

Like California sunshine in a bottle, Hop Cuvée radiates a golden hue with brilliant clarity and bright effervescence. It is a crisp, citrusy and tropical ale with a touch of pine-like bitterness and a clean, dry finish. Refreshing and sessionable, Hop Cuvée satisfies both hop lovers and craft beer newbies. Light straw yellow. Pot like/piney hop aroma. Mild sweetness in the first sip, almost honey like. Mild to low carbonation makes this seem Sessionable. Middle turns moderate dry and finish is nicely complex with a woodsy like flavor. A little weak in the palate for me.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy murky orange with a small white head. Nose brings out earthy notes and astringent resinous hops - not good balance. Flavour is along the same lines, with vegetal herbal notes, some resin and bready malt. Pretty simple - nothing special but not offensive at least. Meh.

Bottle thanks to Eugene. Pours a hazy gold with small white head. The aroma is grass and earthy malt. Medium mouth, spruce, citrus, herbal, light bitterness, decent.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Citrus nose. Flavors of tropical fruits. Slightly sweet finish.

12 oz. bottle from BevMo. Pours a hazy orange with a beige head that settles to a partial film on top. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and slightly herbal hops. Taste is rich toasted caramel malt up front that blends beautifully into a moderate hop bitter finish. A little heavier than most pale ales but smooth and well balanced. Great flavor, an excellent ale.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles. Aroma: moderate, pine hop. Appearance: very small, off-white initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Cloudy, dark-yellow body. Taste: lightly sour, initial flavor and finish with short duration. Palate: medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: unique (strange) flavor.

12oz bottle - Aroma - citrusy, rose petals with some bready malts Appearance - hazy amber body, 2-finger head, nice retention though little lacing Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium carbonation, lightly puckering Flavor - malty, herbal hops, light vegetal notes and a touch of tea notes, like some crystal malt was overused maybe. Overall - tasty enough beverage to give a recommendation on it but just barely. Will try at the brewery in Berkeley.

Pretty nice pour but I see the descript says brilliant clarity, not. There are lots of precipitants floating around in this beer. Nice rocky head from a bottle. Smell is slightly off dull hops. Yes, lots of hops in this pale ale, and its bitter, but bitter in an almost imperceptible way compared to an IPA. Yes, mild IPA thing happening here. Bitterness grows during the session and manifests itself into a near medicinal feel on the palate. Yes, bitter thing on the finish fer sure, lasts for a while. Not impressed but not over the top either I guess.
