Bomber bought at Whole Foods in Maui. Poured a clear copper with a lasting amber head. Aromas of earthiness, caramel and a bit of pine. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavours of caramel, earthiness and a faint hint of pine with a lingering lightly bitter finish. Decent but underwhelming.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beerbill (2850) - Laurel, New York, USA - JUL 17, 2010
12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with joeneugs. Pours a slightly burnished, mostly clear gold with a moderate white head that lasted until mid-glass and left spotty lace. Weak aroma of dusty malt and equally mild grapefruit. The flavor is light malt followed by a wash of moderately bitter grapefruit pith. No real fruitiness to the hops, mostly just some moderate bitterness. Reminds me more of an APA than an IPA. Ok as it is, but lacks a bit in intensity and flavor.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 troyc (2014) - Oklahoma, USA - JUN 20, 2010
[Bottle] Pours an orange/amber color with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine needles. The taste is of earthy hops, biscuit, citrus and caramel malts. Moderate levels of bitterness and somewhat low carbonation. Lingering bittersweet finish. Seems a bit muted flavor-wise, but about on par with many organic beers.
