2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 yemenmocha (657) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - MAR 19, 2010
Pours hazy orangy-golden color with modest head. Nose is almost entirely absent, but with what is there it is just simple citrus. On the palate this one is quite malty for an IPA, with alcohol rearing its ugly head even when the pint is at its coldest initially after the pour. Bitterness is there, but not a lot of the nice aromatic, floral, citrusy, piny hops. What a let down.

Beautiful head and color; slightly metallic aftertaste.

On draft in a pint glass.
Pale orange with a off-white, creamy head.
Nice hop aroma with malt backbone. Well-structured.
Hops dominate the palate. This is a massively hopped beer with only hint of malt. The hops are mostly bittering, seemingly losing the floral charcter of the nose.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Collint (475) - Sylva, North Carolina, USA - FEB 10, 2010
Bottle pours a light cloudy orange red. Aroma is earthy grass malty. Flavor is sweet clean light tasting ipa. Not bad for organic

My Bottom Line:
Cedary and floral hops swim in a heavier-than-usual body for the style, in which lightly caramelized but rather sweet cereals reign.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam floats atop the misty bronze.
-The finish is resinous but fuzzy; the hops don’t taste too fresh here.
-Carbonation is soft and helps drinkability.
-This needs 3 times the hops to be interesting for the style; especially in the aroma.
-Orange-y fruitiness appears in the flavour profile.
Bottle.

Bottle: Light haze in a pale golden pour with a monster white head. So much lacing it practically covers the entire glass. Aromatic, but more like potpurri than an ale. Bright and spicey florals and sweet caramel maltiness. Nice flavor profile of sweet caramel, lively florals, and mild citrus. More flavor than most organic ipa’s. Not bad at all.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 alagnak (467) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - JAN 1, 2010
Nose is muddy raw malt and caramel sweet with just light hints off grapefruit. Taste is the same, though the sweetness and wet mud taste overpower most anything good here. Not sure if it was a slightly bad bottle, but not very pleasant.

22 oz bottle. Hazy amber with strong head. Sweet hops on the nose. Taste sweet hops, pine, candy sweet. Its an IPA.
