COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our organic IPA uses Tomahawk, Cascade, and Centennial hops for a rustic, rough-hewn hop character that pairs great with food or relaxing among friends. Prominent citrus and pine aromas and bitterness that is not over the top balances this medium bodied copper-colored brew.

LIght hoppy aroma. Kind of floral. Orange amber color with a decent off-white head. Starts a bit citrus, gets even more citrus, and the malt is playing background. Some stone fruit shows up. Floral aromas revive. The finish is still citrus, the malt is not all that there, but the hop drops off enough that the finish is nearly balanced. Very different IPA.

Draft... GABF ’06... Clear yellow ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Malty aroma with lots of biscuit and sugar cookie; not real heavy handed on the aromatic hops. Sugar cookie and butterscotch show up in the flavor; light diacetyl. Finally, some moderately bitter hops make a brief appearance. Medium-bodied and dry with mild carbonation. Finishes up dry. Don’t think this one was dry hopped. Definitely an English style IPA.

Bottle. Poured clear amber with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry Pitonka (thanks!). Poured a medium orange color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of spackle (yes, the spackle I use to patch dry wall), toffee and a little nutty. Tastes of caramel and oranges. Definitely a British Style IPA and not an American hop bomb. I just couldn’t get past the spackle.

22 oz bomber. Orange copper coloured with a thin white head. Earthy malty aroma, with some biscuit and toffee along with a shot of piny hops. Flavour is a bit buttery with caramel, toffee, and an intense resinous hop flavour. Decent bitterness. I found the butter and dank earthiness made this undrinkable as it warmed. Didn’t taste infected, but definitely not my style.

Draught Orange amber, no head left. Citrus, but also a bit acetic acid. Very citrussy hops. Malt and discreet hops in the taste. Again cigarette ashes - the glasses? Leafy notes. Light burning MF, medium bodied at least. Not very impressive, IMO.

12oz bottle. Rusty brown clear appearance, tin, toast and nuts in the nose with a metallic hop note. Earthy, gritty, peat-like grassy hop flavor with more nuts and bread crust. Weird, not exactly flavorful or enjoyable.

My Bottom Line:
Cedary and floral hops swim in a heavier-than-usual body for the style, in which lightly caramelized but rather sweet cereals reign.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam floats atop the misty bronze.
-The finish is resinous but fuzzy; the hops don’t taste too fresh here.
-Carbonation is soft and helps drinkability.
-This needs 3 times the hops to be interesting for the style; especially in the aroma.
-Orange-y fruitiness appears in the flavour profile.

Bottle.

Pours copper/amber with a thin white head. Smells resiny with some earthy hints. Tastes citrussy and bitter with some tea like hints on the finish.

Copper pour with off-white head. Nose is resiny hops, caramel malt, some fruit. Crisp flavor with hops balanced well by the malt. Not terribly complex or palate hefty, but fairly smooth.
