COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Winter Warmer is a classic dubbel-style ale that warms body and soul through the chill of Winter and Fall. We enjoy the chewy, malty flavors mingling with a slight fruitiness and raisin character but aromas and flavors will continue to evolve. Our bottle-conditioning leaves some sediment, so store cool, then decant by slowly pouring into two wide mouth glaass to enjoy with a friend. Ale brewed with raisins.

Bomber, 2006 Brewer’s Reserve. Poured a slightly hazy deep reddish-brown with a short beige head (receded to a thick pool and ring quickly). The aroma was very promising... deep, rich semi-sweet chocolate and raisin notes, somewhat smoked and rum-laced.. dusty toffee as it warms. Really nice! Flavor was on the dry (and mildly astringent) side with dried smoky cocoa, rum-soaked raisins, and mild earthy bitterness... warm spices and booze accents at the finish, especially as it approached room temp. This was quite enjoyable.

From a bomber purchased at Sam’s in Chicago. This poured with a nice dark amber and brown color. The head is khaki with large bubbbles. The aroma has sweet caramel and cherries. Some peanuts are also noted. The taste is rich and roasted with some smoky roasted almonds. There is a hint of cooked cherries that have become very mild. This is a very nice Belgian style beer.

Bottle: Dark brown, deep ruby hues, large foamy beige head, clingy lacing.   Combination bready and malty, raisins and molasses make up the majority of the nose.   Seems to have a slight soy and prune factor.   Bready on the tongue, semi-sweet, with a raisiny backside.   Body and mouthfeel are only moderate.   Bready finish, some dark pitted fruit and molasses, a bit astringent/green, but otherwise fairly decent.   Not really my idea of a Dubbel, but not bad.   Certainly better than most Bison... cept the Farmhouse perhaps.   Wished this one was a little more full bodied.

I was surprisingly pleased by this one. Pours a clear dark brown color with a fluffy white head that sticks around while drinking slow. The sweetness of the raisins used is prominent but not overpowering in the nose. It rests on top of some lovely chocolate and molasses scents along with a hint of almond. The flavor is sweet and malty with the fruity beginning, a chocolate middle, and banana finish. Not so much of a dubbel but a solid winter beer that reminds me of a chocolatey scottish ale/weizenbock collabo. Solid offering.

Rich malty aroma. Deep ripe apricot color, approaching brown. A thin white ring is all the head. Starts lightly spiced and malty, quickly give a burst of sugary sweetness, then passes to something like a brown ale taste, followed by a small amount of hop. The alcohol is definitely noticeable. Quite warming.

22 oz bottle from LifeSource Organic Grocery ,Salem OR. Lovelly looking beer, dark brown and murky , topped by a fabulous thick bubbly tan head. Aroma is mostly malts, creamy and toffeeish, with great whafts of raisin. Very nice smooth falvours. Its certainlly Belgian in style and all the expected esters and spice tastes show through, but are complimented by the raisin sweetness. Very malty and with very little hop. Great smooth mouthfeel, alcohol is barelly detectable, great after taste. Overall I echo a previous rater..this along with the Farmhouse Ale seem to welcome a brighter day for Bison. Bravo..I look forward to more of this series."Brewers Reserve"

Pours a milky golden. Yay Bottle conditioning! Smells fruity, raisins maybe not the most obvious but they’re in there if you look for them. Fruity, Spicy flavor with a ful bodied Trippel taste. Smooth and delicious. Quite a good seasonal.

The bottle says Brewer’s Reserve 2006. Pours a hazy deep mahogany with a small cream colored head. Rich sweet nose, lots of raisin character, like sticking your nose in a box of raisins. Caramel and fruit juice flavors blend as it warms with a light spiciness to the finish. While not as crisp, dry, and spicy as most Belgian Dubbels this beer still holds its own as a true winter WARMER. No excess alcohol is present. Very smooth tasting with a good warmth and thick palate. I’m really impressed with Bison these days, between the farmhouse ale and this I have gained a ton of new respect.
