gotohelunc (309), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 15, 2008 Bomber. Bronze color, little head, no haze but a few good sized floaters. Lovely dark fruit scents. Hits the tongue with plum, malts, and only a bit of raisins. Finishes sweet, a little sticky, quite nice. Warms the body, while still being a good, refreshing spring beer. Good stuff.
travita (631), Lewisville, Texas, USA Jun 4, 2008 Color is marron with a thin head. Smell is raisans, sweet, and grape. Taste is sweet, malty, and fruits. Medium body. Some chocolate. Ok. ross (1492), charlotte, North Carolina, USA May 24, 2008 2006 Bottle. Pours out a brown color without much of a head. Smell is sweet, spicy, and has some raisins in it. The taste is sweet, and really, like eating a raisin. Over carbonated, too sweet, no balance, pretty much a mess. It reminded me of Ommegang - but only in appearance and mouthfeel. Kind of like if unibroue was to brew Raison d’ Etre and add a turd to the mix. My least favorite beer of the weekend last week. 00cobraR (928), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA May 21, 2008 Bottle 2006. pours out a nice darker brown clor with a medium tan head. aroma was sweet with a bit a raisin. Flavor was the same, but had a somewhat strange finish. This is one of the better beers i have had from this brewer and I want so bad for them to have something better. My search continues Lumpy (1530), Carrollton, Texas, USA May 15, 2008 Bottle 2006. Body-hazy brown with a medium ring of bubbles. Nose-husk, straw, broom, gerbil cage. Taste-straw, pine shavings, clean, perfect sweetness, medium CO2, grape juice, unsweet honey, urea, sweetens as it warms. Decently made, but nothing mind blowing. bu11zeye (3565), Frisco, Texas, USA May 4, 2008 (22oz. bottle) Pours a cloudy amber-brown body with a small beige head.
