A genuine Bitburger - without any alcohol - but with the same drive as far as the taste is concerned, in bottles or as fresh draught beer from a keg!

Pop corn aroma and taste. Clear golden color, not much head or body. In fairness, there was some hop bitterness at end.

"Trying to keep the abv down (a little) as I get back in shape, found a couple NA/low abv singles. This one was ok. I’ve had a couple better and many worse. Still quite grainy and generic. Sweet malt/corn, bubbly. Not skunky, though. Don’t anybody know you can hop a beer that’s NA?"

33cl into Le Listermann - nose is floral bread. Sip adds metal and the familiar characteristics of a heller bock. Grassy aftertaste. Slight bitterness with noticeable sweetness. Light. Tasty for amounts to water and beer attributes.

Ordered this with dinner because I was driving. Malty, light, somewhat crisp. Nothing special that would make me want to pick it up again, though.

@ Sandy Bay, Cyprus. Bottle (330 ml) from local supermarket (€ 1.19). Really malty and dry, hay/straw, light body with a watery texture. The finish is dry, light bitter and malty.

The low-alcohol version of the famous lager, tasted as Bitburger Drive. Stable, snow-white head, colour deep golden blonde, cristal clear, with a bit of an orange hue. Aroma of sweet pale malt, popcorn, paper and grass; taste grainy and corn-like sweetish, mineral-like, very thin and watery body as expected in this style, finish equally watery due to the near-absence of hops. Okay for its style I guess, but then, who cares about this style anyway...

Bottle from hotel castello malcesine. Very pale yellow beer with a short lived white head. Aroma of corn, like the water from a tin of sweetcorn. Taste is the same. Carbonation is tingly on the tongue, but not prickly, probably the only positive. Thin watery body. Awful.

Bottle @ camping ratebeer. Aroma is malt, wort, caramel. Flavour is light bitterness, malt and wort. Could be worse.

In the US, this is quite expensive for a non-alcoholic beer but worth it. It is reasonably Pilsener-ish and actually tastes quite good even for a regular beer. It is a clear golden color w/ a small and short lived head. It smells of herbal noble hops and fresh cracked malted barley. There is a slight metallic twinge to the taste but it is otherwise nice and hoppy and dry. This is medium bodied w/ moderately vigorous carbonation and finishes w/ a touch of cooked malt and earthy bitterness. This is a pretty impressive non-Alcoholic brew. It doesn’t just taste like a normal beer, it tastes like a good beer.
