Golden brown in color with foamy whitehead. Skunky grainy smell. Nice grainy light beer flavor.

New in Quebec supermarkets. Light golden lager with a thin creamy white head. Grassy malt aroma. In mouth, rather chalky malt residues, a bit bready, not all that bad, and close to the normal Bit. Medium bodied. Overall, a nice low carb. Bought at Rapido, Aylmer, 5.99 a 6 pack.

A avg. of 2.6 is surprising to me. i mean its a bmc upgraded. Like taking a 95 cavalier and adding a spoiler and loud exhaust to make it seem better, but really its still just a cavalier. Pours out a light straw, dark yellow on the verge of being golden, with vey small head. Nose is of cheap beer, a cheap beer ready to skunk, slight hop, grass, even slighter malt, and that always annoying skunk. flavor seemed to steer away from the skunk, and into plain land. Grass, barely hop, so-slight malt, and water.

Bottle: I read the other reviews and I must disagree with those who rate this as a decent Light. It’s very flat, watery, plain, with a metallic and chemical nose. Just as terrible as most other lights.

Aroma is skunky, grassy. Pale yellow, a little finger of white foam. Grassy taste, with a hint of hops. Very good given it’s lightness.

12 oz bottle - Label slightly different than pictured but it was the same beer. Pours golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma is of light grains and some floral hops. Flavor is of grains and light hops as well. Palate is light and airy and easy to drink. I tried both Becks Premium Light and this side by side and this definitely won out. Not too bad for a low carb beer actually.

Being restricted to low carb beers I have to say this is one of the better ones. More taste by far than any Am. lght and better balance than DAB low carb and Becks premium light. I picked up a 12 of regular Bit by mistake once and couldn’t really tell much difference. It is also cheaper ($8.99/12) than is Amstel light.

The aroma’s a bit skunky, hiding some sweet malt and floral & herbal hopping. Light-bodied, it’s got a similar taste to Bitburger’s Pils, perhaps a bit sweeter, more lightly hopped, and not as refreshing. Neither "low-calorie" nor "low-alcohol" (2.8% abv) is a selling point for me, so I’ll pass on this in the future.

I lived right down the hill from the Bitburger brewery from 1999-2002, but never had a Bitburger Light until I found a 12-pack on sale for $6.49 in Omaha, Nebraska in 2005. Go figure. Anyway ... this is bright yellow with a average if slightly impressive white head. For a "light" beer this gives an impressively robust malt and light hop aroma. The flavor is far beyond any American light beer and only a tad off the mark of the better German pilsners ... grassy malts and a nice little bitter finish. I think this bumps Amstel as the best light lager out there.

Bottle. Light is the main word for this brew. Cold and refreshing with a very short finish. More character compared to other low alcohol light brews.
