The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

Not a bad pilsner. Light and a good balance between sweet and bitter. The flavor only lasts briefly. Itís better than most commercial beers.

Bottle. Clear and golden in colour, white head that disappears quickly. In aroma grainy with hint of hops. In taste very bitter. Low bodied, watery, dry, crisp. I had better ones.

The beer has the typical pilsner look. It has a pale yellowish color. There is very little smell, which contains a hint of a bitter something. The taste is biter, very bitter. There is also a little sour aspect in the taste. Not that great.

(500cc can, Beijing) Aroma: nice Bavarian beer nose. Can smell some malt and pilsner-type hops. Appearance: medium yellow, significant visible carbonation, clear, decent head, creamy white foam, with some nooks/crannies. Head does linger a while. Taste: Pretty light a simple, but then followed by some creamy robustness (hops, bitter). Can taste the grain malts, but not overwhelming. The balance leans towards hops a bit. Some acidity, herbaceousness and a touch of floral without being sweet, Palate: a bit creamy feel, quite dry, lingering bitterness on side of mouth AND font of the tongue. Overall: A good pilsner without being over the top. High points: Nice balance with a good bitter finish Low points: A touch light on the nose and wish they could bring just a bit more of the tartness/acidity to the front (a touch soft/weak initially, but many people might like this). .

500 ml can. Pours a very pale straw color with a big white head. Aroma is chalk and grain. Tastes chalky, dry, and somewhat bitter. Thin, medium dry finish. Did not enjoy this beer as the dry chalkiness was dominant.

11.2oz bottle shared by Big Lou. Super clear golden pour. Decent pils, nothing to right home about.

Itís here, itís clear, itís beer. This unremarkable specimen is still rather refreshing and wholeheartedly drinkable. Borderline great, there is a a mild but forgivable skunky flavour form the hops and a overly sweet middle ground I canít look beyond. Against my better judgement, I chose a beer that carried the word "Premium" and also advertised its "No.1"edness. Rewarded was I with a middling piece of German export "slightly-better-than-Futbol-beer" beer.

Tap. Clear golden, large white head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is grassy and bread. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Medium body.

Itís a pretty standard pilsener. Nothing that will blow you away but itís not bad by any means. Not super hoppy like some of the american pilseners that are popping up lately. Grassy, and light. Some straw, little bit of fruitiness and clean finish. The Germanís know what theyíre doing so Iím not going to question this one. Iím not a big Pils dude but this is pretty delicious.

Tap@malcesine. Golden color with intense white head. Aroma has malt and grassy hops. Taste is malty with somewhat bitter aftertaste. Flavor of malt and grassy bitter elements.
