The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

Pale yellow body and a head that diminished very quickly. No real lacing to speak of. The aroma is clean and bitter -- nice hop profile. The flavor resembles the aroma, yet some malts appear and keep the hops in check. Good balance for the style. Average carbonation, but what impressed me was how dry this beer was. Extremely drinkable, and I would definitely love to try this fresh from the tap someday.

On tap at Horst Gasthaus, North Myrtle Beach. Served in a half liter fluted glass. Straw color with a light white head. Substantial cling. Aromas of sweet malt and cut grass. Slightly sweet wheat malt flavor, cut grass and traditional German yeast. Dry, crisp finish. Light and refreshing, but not very memorable.

Poured from a 500 ml can. Pours straw with a light foamy head. Aromas of hops and not much else. Taste of hops and hay, spruce. Not bad but nothing great. Mild flavor easy drinking. Light palate.

Yuk - smells like fermenting veggies - tastes sickly sweet and of fermenting fruit salad - bloody horrible.

Pretty decent commercial pilsner. Has a somewhat bitter taste and heavy carbonation is apparent if it’s poured into a glass. I liked it for what it was.

Moderately foaming lager. It has no special character that should be emphasized. It has richness and hop bitterness as usual German pilsner. It is very very of real and pure taste, but it is not a lager surprises in length.

Avarage German Pilsener. Probably one of the best commercial brands in the style.

50 cl. Clear gold color with minimal froth. Grassy with a bit of honey notes and a small weird milky / sour flavor.

Bottle. Clear and golden in colour, white head that disappears quickly. In aroma grainy with hint of hops. In taste very bitter. Low bodied, watery, dry, crisp. I had better ones.

The beer has the typical pilsner look. It has a pale yellowish color. There is very little smell, which contains a hint of a bitter something. The taste is biter, very bitter. There is also a little sour aspect in the taste. Not that great.
