The classic Bitburger - a mature and most agreeable beer - is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for many, many years. The result is delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste.

Poured from 500ml can into pint glass Appearance: pours a 2" thick white head which moderately recedes leaving some lacing. Light golden mostly clear appearance with plenty of streaming carbonation. Aroma: bready malts dominate with some yeast and hops present. Mouthfeel: light and frothy with a very pleasant finish. Flavor: lightly toasted barley malt, a bit of caramel, some lemon, grass, and a mild hop bite for balance. Overall: a delicious and highly enjoyable pilsner.

Pours a light golden color with a bubbly white head. Nose of pail malt, grainy, bready, Cereal. You also get a bit of hops. Light to medium body, small to medium lingering hop finish. It seems to be missing a bit of the crispness finish that is good with pilsners. Medium sweetness. Its ok I guess.

Bottle. Nose is faint citrus and bread. Palate is earthy, bitter. Finish is short and bitter. Not that good.

Ein deutscher Klassiker. Warum auch immer?? Schlapp strohiges Aroma ohne jeglichem Esprit. Der Trunk dezent süß und die vermeintlichen Hopfenflavours kommen ganz ganz leicht zu Schluß. Eine Enttäuschung. 0,3/2,70€ mit Conny im DUBROVNIK.

A bottle from the basement of Shing Kong Mitsukoshi, opposite Taipei main station, drunk at home. Aroma: hoppy, just... Appearance: clear, amber, some lacing. Palate: well-carbonated, astringent. Taste: ultimately watery, but bitterness shines through. Not bad, but not as good as Pilsner Urquell.

Appearance: clear straw with one finger of rocky white head diminishing rapidly a thin cap, moderate lacing. (3/5) Aroma: corn syrup, crackery malt, bready yeast, grass. (5/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-mild bitter, light tart. (5/10) Medium-light body, lively to moderate carbonation, crisp and clean medium duration off-dry mildly bitter finish. (3/5) Danger, Will Robinson! It says “Premium” on the label, so in accordance with my theory, it must be terrible, right? Well… not really. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s nothing great - but it’s a long drive from terrible. Easily drinkable, with a fairly clean finish. For a mass-produced beer, it’s actually not bad. (Cute little pun on the label, too - “Bitte ein Bit”.) I’d certainly rather have this, than a Coors Light. Doesn’t get any better as it warms, though, so get it gone and move on! (11/20)

Golden with medium white head. Malty aroma. Medium bitterness with medium sourness and quite strong maize sweetness. Slightly sour aftertaste with bitter notes.

330ml bottle from Liquor City Claremont. Pours a perfectly clear golden yellow with tightly packed, rocky head with good retention and some lacing. Aromas of cracker malt and some bread and lots of corn. Medium carbonation, light body. Flavour is upfront bitterness which recedes quickly into a sweet syrupy malt character with lots of corn. Not as drinkable as a pils should be.
