1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - JUL 28, 2008
Bottle (330ml). Labeled BitBurger Lemon. Poured clear, extremely pale yellow with a small, rock, white head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of lemon lime & bitters with a hint of grain, lemon sorbet and some light soapy notes. Flavor was artificial lemon with pub squash, lemon jelly, a squeeze of lime and some soapy notes in the finish. Very soda like, no hops or malt present. Light bodied with lively carbonation, a somewhat syrupy texture (odd for the low alcohol) and a non-existent finish.

Bottle - A beery background taste but very sweet and sticky from lemonade. This is not actually a Fruit Beer but a shandy (Radler) based on Bitburger Premium Pils so probably shouldn’’t even be listed here.

Very light clear golden color. No head. Smell of ginger ale. Taste was lemony sweet with some hop flavor but really small. Slight cardboard.

33cl bottle poured into a pilsner glass. Sparkling yellow with thick white head. Initial aroma is pond water followed by sweet smells of some unidentifiable fruit. The flavor is fruity sweet with a balancing amount of hops. Though a bit over sweet, it is quite drinkable for the style.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 jkm (209) - AUSTRALIA - APR 20, 2008
Pale yellow colour with no head. Citrus aroma. Thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. A little watery with lemon in the flavour. Quite sweet. Not exactly a good beer but then it is 50% lemonade and 50% Bitburger Premium Pils....! Radler meaning shandy. 330ml bottle.

Its funny how many people on here don’t have a clue what a radler is.
Folks, a Radler is a mixed beer. Pils and lemonade... thats it. It is common in Germany as you would not play a sport in summer and drink straight pils all day now would you?
It’s not a blond beer, it’s not a fruit beer, it’s simply a pils and sprite/7up.
Please stop comparing it as a beer. It would be like saying a cola-beer tastes like cola and therefore tastes artifical... which is just stupid.

Bitburger Radler does not match-up to some of the competition it faces in Germany. Bitburger Pils is not a good mixing beer, the taste is just too distinct. Karlsburg Saar-Radler is a suprerior alternative- it is lighter and more refreshing.
