COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What happened to the true Bitters? The ones featuring hand -turned malt and a fragrant biscuity palate? Here it is finally, simple and light but with character. It has many tales to tell, oceans to cross and harbors to meet where I would eventually find her.
Do you remember the good times?

Being extremely simple, clean and essential, this beer sets a counter trend in the Italian Craft beer arena which usually seeks unusual elements such as exotic hops or spices to characterize the beer. It is brewed using English raw materials. Its aromas of biscuit, shortbread and hazelnut are delivered by the use of malts directly imported from a small malt factory in southern England still hand turning its barleycorns during germination. The beer’s spicy nuances are conveyed by the use of traditional English hops whereas its delicate fruit aroma of peach and orange preserve is delivered by a traditional English yeast strain.
Being always fascinated by English Bitters served from hand-pumps, I decided to give this style a try despite its difficult brewing process. A perfect alchemy is required to make a bare 4.2% beer elegant and complex. First, it has to be extremely easy to drink; second, it must present certain enticing elements.

Its making is an attempt to recall the poetry inspired by the enchanting landscapes of the English countryside. Those who have been there know it is unforgettable.

Appearance: Light amber, clear. Huge amounts of white, creamy head, too much. Aroma: Some malt, but more bitterness. Taste: Lots of hops, sightly too bitter. Some malt. Slightly disappointing. Info: 330ml bottle, 15/3-2013, BB: 4/2013

33cl bottle. Deep golden/red pour. Very very high carb with very large white fast vanishing head, medium bodied. Aroma is really malty with some toasted notes, taste is really grainy and refreshing, maybe lacking a little bit of bitter. Mouthfeel is what i like the most about this beer, Overall a really good beer.

Bottle @ Domus Birrae, Rome. Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Delicate aroma of orange, caramell, wood, grape fruit and biscuits. Medium bitter, medium sweetness. Flavours are citrus, honey, orange peel, wood and a touch of elder berry. A magnificent bitter.

In bottiglia.
