Sampled at the brewery. The aroma has noticeable sulfur, bready malt notes. The flavor its bready, sulfur, slightly tasty, the ranges gives the beer a fruity character.

A - Served a fairly clear copper-orange color with a finger of frothy tannish head. The head hangs around forever leaving behind some nice lacing. S - The aroma is a mix of lightly toasted caramel malts and some light sweet fruit. There is also just a hint of earthy hops in the background. T - Starts off with sweet lightly toasted caramel flavor and a bit of light fruit (peach). Through the middle a touch of hops and spice come through. The finish is sweet and lightly toasted with a hint of spice. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and crisp. The finish is fairly clean with some lingering sweetness. D - Very drinkable. A bit too light and could have used a bit more of a punch to the flavor.

on tap as the ’alt’ on 7/21/10. maple-y brown color with a white head and some spotty lacing. some golden raisin fruitiness is noticed first in the nose.... followed by toasted nuts, grainy cereal, florals and grass. the addition of mild chocolate and barley to the aroma makes up the flavor profile. there is a dry grainy finish followed by a touch of alcohol heat. medium bodied and fairly dry. 6/3/6/3/13/3.1

BeerandBlues2 (9068) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - SEP 7, 2009
Draught. Pours clear amber with an average, fizzy off-white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel, cereal), average hop (herbs, grass), average yeast (sweat, earth) with notes of dates. Light bodied, mineral texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
