3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (4105) - Tallahassee, USA - OCT 27, 2004
One of the better Amber Ales I have come across at a brewpub. Dark orange appearance with a creamy white head, good lacing. Sweet floral aroma with some faint citrus notes. Flavor is bittersweet with a bit of grapefruity sourness. Thick mouthfeel, sits just right.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 redgold07 (308) - Irving, Texas, USA - MAR 19, 2008
Pours a medium brown-red color with a slight white head. Aroma is a little hoppy. It seems that there is rye in here somewhere. Flavor is lighter on the hops than expected, but still good.
On tap at Uncle Billy’s.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pintsize (1042) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 13, 2008
1-3-08 on tap at Uncle Billy’s
Unfiltered brown color with okay head and lacing. Nice hoppy smell that would be perfect if it had a bit more kick. Very nice, VERY light hop flavor. A bit thin on the palate but nice overall.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 lb4lb (2026) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 3, 2008
Had on tap at Uncle Billy’s. Was told this was the same recipe as used at the Bitter End by the bartender, so I’ll put the review under here for now... Poured a very dark crimson color, almost brown with just a small head. Smell was hoppy and zesty and almost rye like. Taste was a balanced hoppiness with again zesty, hearty notes of rye like grain and malt. Very nicely balanced and easy drinking enough for beginners but tasty enough for everyone. Not a traditional Joe Schmoe Amber, and a nicely done beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DewBrewer (295) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 20, 2005
On draught. Amber/orange color with nice lacing. The aroma has nice citrus with a touch of malt coming through. The flavor is so well balanced with the malt and the hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. This is a bit unique being a hoppy amber here in Texas so it is very welcome each time Brian brews it. Look for it.

On Cask @ the Bitter End. Nice murky amber color with some head and lacing. Citrus and malt in the nose. Smooth malt flavor with a medium body. Citrus hop bite and the end for balance. Very drinkable beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 grat (433) - ST. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 13, 2004
This beer smells like a well hopped Fat tire. Really sweet smelling. Not as dark as the tire but still amber in color. Palate is average. Amarillo hops really shine through on this one. Sweet...but overcome by the amarillo hops. G-rat
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TChrome (1328) - Bedford, Texas, USA - APR 14, 2004
Clear yellow/brown with a nice off white head. Head is nicely retained and there is nice lacing. Aroma is mainly hoppy. Flavor is hoppy and the texture of the beer is grainy.
