Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Oct 17, 2005 cloudy yellow thin disapating head. aroma is straw honey and lemons. salty grain taste assaulted me, something similar to raw oatmeal and very bitter-too much so. tart finish that is hiding some sweetness. palate is like the mouthfeel of a glass of milk. this is rough, raw, and unpleasant. tastes like corn. Humulone_Red (743), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 15, 2005 Tap. This beer was made with a yeast strain procured from a different source. Brian was not super pleased with the results. I think the beer turned out really good. Nice and malty with a hint of honey and a unusual aroma and finish. aceofhearts (1373), San Francisco, California, USA Feb 25, 2005 Tap. Golden, a little bit bubbly. Slight bit of...barnyard?? in the aroma. It blends well into the bready malts...this went great with one of their pizzas. Very fresh tasting maltiness, honey, thick overall. Nicely done. PorterPounder (2810), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Feb 15, 2005 Had on tap at the brewpub in Austin. Pours a sparkling medium golden in a tall pilsener glass with a fluffy, thick white head and generous thick lacing - looks very refreshing. Aroma has a bit of a mown grass bent to it with a bit of mint and some wort. Flavor has some brief sweet honey accents to it with a trailing taste of mint that carries over from the aroma. Note some spritzy lemon in there as well. The mouthfeel is somewhat thick and chewy for a Pils, done up well, as expected from BE. Walt (2268), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 12, 2005 Poured yellow and fizzy with nice white head...smell is sweet malts and grass...tastes round and full with grass witha hint of lemon...a nice swift dose of hops cleans it up nicely...as it warmed it grew a soapy quality...the palate seemed a little busy for a pils...
