UPDATED: JUN 30, 2004 Good swill. Pours a nice dark chocolate black color Head dies off quickly. Smells like smoked chocolate. Tastes like smoked chocolate. Notes of red meat, smoked malt and dark chocolate. Great brew grat

Clear dark red with a nice head and good lacing. Nice chocolate and malt in the nose. Flavors of chocolate and coffee with caramel notes and a slightly dry bitterness at the end. Good Porter.

On tap at the Bitter End. Sewage backup, so the place stinked. Oh well...this is a decent Porter. Little light on the flavor.

Had on tap at The Bitter End in Austin, Tx. Dark red fading to brown pour, mocha colored head, decent lacing. Aroma has notes of chocolate and coffee. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor has notes of chocolate and coffee of course, with a bit oif a winey backend taste. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy and quite nice Above average porter for a brewpub, which tend to make porters slighlty gritty - not the Bitter End, though.

On tap at Bitter End. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma and flavors of dark roasted malt, coffee and a little chocolate. They labeled it as a "robust" porter, but to me it seems a litte dry for this description. This said, it still is a pretty nice Porter.

A nice beer. Smoky flavor, not the maltiest beer out there but it is up front in the beginning and finishes slightly bitter. Not the best porter out there, but definitely worth repeating.

Light toast nose, dark clear brown color. Roasted malt from the initial contact with tongue, which dominates the profile - in a good way. Coffee-like bitter end. Thinish body but with a very nice balance. Lip-drying effect after the swallow. Solid porter from a consistently good brewer.
