Strangely bitter and dry for a malty anything. Some interesting yeast components -- frangrant wood. A cross between an APA and Westmalle Dubbel. Some above average fizz. A very weird beer -- in all the commotion I'm not exactly sure the beer served is correct.

Seems to be a confused lager wanting to know whether it’s a bock, alt or perhaps something else. Generally I’m the confused one and that’s the way I prefer it to be.

tap at brewpub-Austin, Tx. Well this was their "special" brew on tap. dark amber appearance with little carbonation. I detect all malt on the aroma-somewhat peat-ey like a scotish ale-somewhat thin body and not much finish. not all that great.

Tap. The waiter described this as "a cross between an ale and a lager". Huh. I'll put "amber ale" and move on. Orange, transparent, small head. Malty indeed. A bit of citrus taste, especially oranges. Rather dry. Decent and drinkable.
