Bottle. Aroma is huge chamomile, vanilla and oak. Tastes slightly sweet with honey. Big vanilla and oak barrel to mix with chamomile and flowers. It’s well made for sure but it’s just not my favorite kind of beer. Hope these guys start barrel aging more barley wines, stouts, etc instead of IPAs.

Aroma of cammomile mintiness, tannic oak, sweet toffee roasted barrel, passion fruit, clove, very slightest franken scense. Hazy, non homogonized, bronze, swirls of off white foam, some lace. Bitter oregano-hay up front, fades into sweet caramel-passion fruit and sugar water, lingering mild oak tannin and mild bitter hay. Somewhat watery texture. Overall, wow, very nice, unique!

Tap (for real!). Nice spotty lacing. Opaque amber gold. Honey/chamomile nose. Nice body. Very unique and sweet taste -- hops and chamomile play in an almost hoppy tea like way.

Bottle share courtesy of dcschiller. It pours with a murky copper body that has gold hues and supports a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy oak, slippery sweet bourbon, some malt thickened citrus hops, floral hops and more sweetness laced with booze at the end of the draw. The taste is sweet with bourbon and begins edged with a mix of harsh booze and spicy oak that just ramps up the sense of harshness. Behind that are murmurs of dull malt sweetened citrus and a bit more bourbon booze. Overall this really doesn’t work all that well.

Bottle at the Triad bottle share at Foothills organized by Mike. Cloudy blonde pour. Aroma is floral, slightly medicinal, with pine and a slight barrel note. Flavor is more barrel heavy. Sometimes I get pickle notes in overly aged hoppy beers. I don’t get that here, but there’s something close to that. Slight vinegar kick, vanilla sweetness, with moderate hoppiness. Not really an IPA. Must say this is an odd choice for a debut beer, but it drink(s) pretty good, so best of luck.

Hopheads rejoice! You can taste the bourbon but it's not overly aggressive which is good. The juniper and chamomile bring out the floral and juicy notes. Such a great beer and entry for this new outfit in Chelsea. Michigan beer is the best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 691 of 816 thanks to my brother. Hazy gold with a pink hue and light head. Juniper, sweet and floral aromas. Sweet and gin and tonic upfront but with a really perfumy finish.

Bottle, thanks Mittenator. Aroma is floral and perfume. Very nice. No bourbon to be found in the taste and flavor gets a little soapy.

Nice citrus nose. Heavy bitterness on the tongue. Well balanced, very nice beer. For the money, I would prefer a Bell’s Hopslam.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; bottle # 554/816, no bottle dating but a very recent release. Pours very hazy deep orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, lemon zest, juniper, floral, herbal, grass, toffee, oak, light bourbon, light clove, light pine, bread, honey, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance of bright hop notes with malt and the herbal/barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, pineapple, lemon zest, juniper, floral, grass, light pine, bread, honey, light caramel, toffee, oak, light bourbon, light clove, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pineapple, orange rind, juniper, floral, grass, light pine, honey, bread, light caramel, toffee, and oak on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of bright hops with malt, herbal, and barrel flavors; with a great hop/malt balance with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy, moderately slick, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent DIPA! All around great complexity and balance of hop, malt, herbal, and barrel flavors; and dangerously smooth to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
