riversideAK (1648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Dec 13, 2007 Bottle from kyzr. Dark amber color with a thin head. Light smoke, peat, butter, toffee, and sweet malt aroma. Initial flavor is smokey bbq w light toffee notes. As it warms, it becomes less smokey up front. The smoke actually begins toaccompany the sweet toffee and caramel malt notes. Nice bittering hops give a pleasant finish to this one. Medium to high carbonation. My only complaint is that seemed a bit thin. Essentially a smokey amber ale. This was a good one. kyzr (962), Belgrade, Montana, USA Oct 8, 2007 Dark amber pour with small brown thin head. Hint of smoke, yet rather sweet malt nose. At first, the smokeiness is the main factor, yet once it warms, the peat malt really start to control the flavor. Very well balanced with a medium mouth feel. Finish is kind of sweet, yet undercontrol. My new favorite from Bitter Root Brewing!
