3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep ruby color bordering on mahogany. Upon pouring there is a small off white head of a tan colored foam. The head fades moderately quickly, leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is sweet and roasty with lots of roasted malt smells, containing some smoke and a good deal of sweeter cherry, plum, and raisin. Along with these aromas comes some other smells of a light yeasty aroma as well as a little bit of spice of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Taste – The taste begins with a blend of sweet and roasty, with the sweet being a mix of a molasses taste with that of some darker fruit flavors of cherry, plum, and raisin. Along with these flavors come a little bit of spice upfront, being mostly of a cinnamon and nutmeg. While the spice is very light upfront, it grows quite a bit stronger as the taste advances, with the cinnamon becoming one of the more dominant flavors. The sweetness increase a little bit as well, with it gaining a little more fruit at the expense of a little bit of the molasses. With just a hint of coffee, some light booze, and a surge of the more sweet flavors at the very end of the taste, one is left with a nice sweeter and warming, decently but balanced, spiced, flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. For the darker roasted and light boozed flavors the feel is rather nice, as it accentuates these well, all while the moderate carbonation level does rather well for the fruit and molasses. Overall the feel was rather nice and balanced, never leading to one component of the brew from becoming too overwhelming.
Overall – A rather nice winter warmer overall, with a good fruity and sweet base mixed with a nice roasty and balanced spiced and boozed flavor overall.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Old bottle. No date.
Pours a graham brown with some surface etchings of light tan foam. Smells of cinnamon, brown sugar and some oxidized malts. Tastes of dark, sweet malts, some rye cracker, some coffee grounds and a bit of cinnamon still. Medium bodied with low carb and an off dry finish. I kinda expected this to be infected or overly brutalized by oxygen, not the case. Decent enough

22 oz bottle. Dark brown pour, light brown head. Very spicy aroma, cinnamon and ginger are big players, licorice, molasses and some roasted malt. Flavor is sweet, body is pretty nice. I get a lot of cinnamon and clove, oranges, licorice, birch syrup and roasted malt. This is really damn good.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Dark amber pour with a rich, creamy tan head. Nose is malty with a subtle spice. Picking up the ginger and orange peel per the deScription. Flavor has an increase in intensity, relative to the aroma. A little more maltiness along with a strong orange and ginger presence. Picking up a little cinnamon too, which I could do without. Still, this is flavorful and refreshing overall.

Big wollap on the back of tongue. Dissapates quickly, dry finish. Beautiful color, laced the side of glass. I’m getting licorice, though, which detracts.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bomber pours clear amber with tan head. The aroma has a good deal of rich nearly vibrant winter spiciness and then heading into roasted malts and some spicy anise like black licorice. The taste is similar where I get spicy anise infused Christmas cookie and black strap molasses. Well behind those notes are echoes of malts and faint dark fruity esters. This is a darn tasty winter type brew

Bomber thanks to Ibrew2or3, thanks Dave. Pours a deep amber/purple color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet spices, toffee and caramel. A nice flavor; rich berries, some dry yeast, lots of ginger, sweet spices but not overdone. Very dry and nice.
