4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 mkobes (2123) - paramus, USA - FEB 15, 2004
Had both versions the cask and the tap. The two versions can't be compared. The cask version was hoppy. The tap version was very carmelly. Really good. Enjoyable.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a good looking orange body with a fluffy mostly white head. Aroma was lousy and weak, barely detectable aroma of grains and vomit, yuck. Flavor was dry with notes of lots of ceral and grains along with a touch of chocolate. Body was medium with strong carbonation. Meh, it was okay but nothing special.

Cask Conditioned - Poured muddy copper with a fairly large small bubbled white head. The head quickly dissappears to a small white lacing. The aroma was warm and a bit orangy. The flavor was much of the same - not as bitter as I would have liked and not as good as the ESB’s that I love.

I thought that this was Bitting’s best offering at the Split Rock beerfest. And it was that great. But is was decent and easy to drink.

Golden amber, with a small white head and almost no lacing. It looks nothing like a true English bitter, and the aroma and flavor was more along the lines of a pale...and a weak one, at that. Not hoppy, not malty, not horrible, but not impressed.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Prostman (1077) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2007
This was an okay beer. I had this at the Split Rock Beer Festival 2007. Not something to remarkable, but okay.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 16, 2007
Cask. Pours a slihgtly cloudy deep muddy copper with a thin lasting head and very fine cobweb lacing. Aroma is fruity, light yeast, some herbla and tea-hops- very english like with a light toasty malt backbone. Smooth flavor- light bready malts, yeast, fruity esters- becomes a bit muddled, but finishes pretty smooth.

Cask at brewpub. Pours pale golden amber with lacing off white head. Orange and caramel aroma, but faint. British Caramel and toffee malt flavor, finished by a mild bitterness. Even for a bitter, this was tad thin. Plus this lacked the earthiness of a true bitter. Still respectable in my book.

on tap-pours a creamy offwhite head that laces with gold color. Aroma is mild hop, grain. Taste is creamy grain, grassy, caramel, mild hops bite.

Cask... Poured a golden color with a large, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of diactyl, toasted dough, toffee, and light citrus. Taste of citrus, toffee, grains, and more diactyl. Somewhat disappointing.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Dorwart (2160) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - APR 30, 2004
Cask conditioned. Dense head of fine bubbles with a soapy looking lacing though. Slightly cloudy, medium orange/amber. Light malt aroma with a hint of orange and hops. Weak flavor. Slight malty sweetness and some hops bitterness. Expected much more though. Nice alcohol warming for a 5%er. Slightly sour finish. Dry and slightly bitter. Expected more hops than this from an ESB. An ok brew that I would like to try again in the future to see any difference.
