Commercial Description:
This lager is a close relative of our standard Knockout Bock. A lighter color and extra hop additions being the main differences. This style is traditionally brewed in Germany for release in the month of May(Mai), thus the name. At 6.2%ABV this lager also packs a punch!

Pint at the brewpub, you really don’t get a chance to notice the head, since they give you a very good pour, right to the top. Nice brown copper appearance, almost spicy nose. The fruit taste behind the hops is quite enjoyable, I made this my second, third, and fourth beer of the evening! Satisfying mouthfeel, perfectly balanced. I compare this favorably to the best Maibock I’ve had so far, Full Sail’s from Hood River, OR. I left with a growler full for later evaluation and enjoyment!

060405-on tap-pours a white head with hazy copper head. Aroma is medium malt, sweet. Taste follows with dark fruit. OK carbonation/effervescence on the tongue.

Thin frothy head with light carbonation. Residual foam on top lasts the duration of the drink. Medium amber in color. Malty sweet aroma with some roasted grains and toffee. Lots of grainy notes. Strong malt backbone with a bit of caramel and cereal. Smooth and creamy finish which is expected from a good Bock. Late dry hoppy presence that is kiind of pasty. The website claims that this is different form their standard Knockout Bock. Seems like they took a little of the flavor and body out of it. Still a very good beer though.
