A hazed brown/orange pour with a nice creamy off white head and lace. Medium evergreen hops on the nose and flavor followed by a good full malt backbone to balance this beer out. Full/medium bodied beer with good carbonation. A very nice beer that I wish was closer to home.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Floral hoppy aroma with lighter fruity and piney notes. The flavor has floral and light piney hops, with lightly sweet malty notes. Not bad.

Pours ruby red from tap. Not a ton of aroma from tap which is disappointing because its an IP bloody A. Some hints of citrus on the tongue but they’re too fleeting. Finish is cleanish.

From the brewery. Sweet aroma with a nice hops kick. Not too bitter with a bit of a cherry note. Quenching brew.

Wow! What a great IPA. I can’t drive past Woodbridge in good consciousness and not stop in and get a growler filled. Took a chance on this one, and defintely did not disappoint. Hints of toasted oak, deep and complex. Good balance in the hops. Almost reminded me of a smoked beer on the first sip.

Growler thanks to Briank. Poured a lightly hazed orange-amber with a small off-white head. Pine and caramel with a touch or wort in the nose. Pine and citrus taste that almost covers the malt. A mild-medium sweetness and a long bitterness. medium bodied. Pretty good.

growler brough home by pops. pours dark amber, brown with a small head/ nose is really big piney hops, taste is tonguescraping hops, really fresh. paired with mei thai. was dying from the food and the beer was adding such a bitter bite to the heat. crazy combination. this beer is excellent on its own though. great hop character. Wish more beers was like this.

A cloudy light-copper color, with decent citrus based aroma. Nice structure and hop balance for the style. There are hops here for sure, but overall, it’s pretty easy to drink for a IIPA. Nothing amazing, but surely worth a try when it’s on tap at JJ Bitting’s.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2008 Rerated - I tried this one again as I was unsure why I had such a different opinion as everyone else and I had a change of mind. Perhaps the first time I had this there was something wrong with it? Either way this is a nice IPA. Not as much hops as I would like. It smells of slight hops and malts with a bit of citrus. Taste is about the same, small alcohol taste.

Draught at the brewpub. Copper colored leaving webby lacing. Aroma of caramel malts with a good infusion of grapefruit and pine hops. Same characteristics in the flavor--firm caramel malt body with deep grapefruit and piney hops. Zesty hop finish. A great "Big IPA." Not quite a double or Imperial in the sense of the term, but a very tasty ultra-hopped IPA product.
