3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dmac (2656) - Toms River, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Draft from a sampler. This was far and away the best if the six beers I tried. Deep amber body with a smaller off white head. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg over a grainy malty base. Medium bodied with a lingering aftertaste. Flavor has lots of spices up front that blend nicely over the malty body.

Pours a clear, somewhat copper color with a tiny lacing of a head. Aroma is of some cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, caramel and a little more spice. Taste is solid, some cinnamon, sweet caramel notes, vanilla, clove and a light earth taste as it warms a bit, big on the cinnamon flavor, but not in an offensive way. Definitely the standout of the trip there.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 joebudzjoe (490) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 20, 2010
At the brewery. Dark brown/black body with minimal head. Sweet smell. Cola, toffee, corn syrup notes. A little too sweet. Despite dark color, not too thick; on the thin side palate-wise. A pretty good beer.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 HoppityHop (149) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 27, 2008
Nice dark mahogany coloring with miles of tan head. Honestly, too much head for the style. However, the carbonation level was right where it should be, and letting it sit in my glass for a while brought everything out. Hints of coffee, chocolate, spice, etc. Lots going on here with the flavor. Medium to thinner body, with a nice bittersweet finish. Seek it out.

Growler me! Oh yeah, great beer. Wonderful when you are snowed in, deep in the winter. Powerful aroma, and swimming with flavor. Can’t miss this one if you have the chance.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2009 This beer is very good... It lives up to its name. You can taste the nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and vanilla... you can certainly taste the nutmeg as it exudes this beer. Served cold... probably would be better at room temp.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pivo (2540) - GERMANY - JAN 9, 2005
ON TAP: Sweet apple-like malt nose, creal reddish brown color. Caramel malt body with nutmeg and clove. Sweet with a pleasant spiciness. Not so special and a little unsophisticated, but probably the best one of the JJ Bittings brews we sampled.
