On tap in lewisville. Poured amberish with an off white head. Aroma was cinnamon, candy sugar, and yeast. Flavor was candy sugar, yeast, clove? and some Orange type citrus. Body was medium with high carbonation.

Clear nutty amber, with a thin head that settles into a nice cap. Intriguing aroma of earthy toffee, slight cocoa tones, bubblegum-yeast, and a tone of stone fruitiness I can’t quite put my finger on. Palate is clean and light--admirable in a pilsner, not in a Belgian. flavor is nice and Belgian-y, with earthy toffee and cocoa Dubbel tones, as well as a yeasty note of bubblegum throughout, pretty sweet and light on the fruity tones, tasting like toffee covered raisin. But I’m pretty sure a toffee covered raisin would taste more full than this beer. It has an alright flavor, just lacking body or oomph.

tap at El Paso Location-pours deep orange with almost brown hue with a soapy tan head. nose is sweet estery light dark fruits, plastic, and spice (cinnamon). flavors are spicy with lots of dark fruit. no real off flavors here-clean with no grainy notes. long spicy finish. A very decent offering from this brewery if you ask me.

On draft at BJ’s Pearland. I was surprised to see this offered and didn’t expect much. Poured opaque caramel brown with decent tan head. Fruity malty apples, pear, and creamy mouthfeel with some spices of nutmeg or clove in there. Smooth finish. Decent, although I didn’t order a second one.

Tall, cloudy brown with a tan deflating head. Metallic aroma. Sweet malty taste. The belgian yeast in more faint and comes later. Also, flavors of red delicious apple peel. Faint lace. Icy finish. Maybe it was just served too good and I was too thirsty. Heh.

[Tap] Pours a dark amber color with a nice pillow of beige head. Nose is of Belgian esters, clove and some nutmeg. Bready taste includes some light toffee, candy sugars, yeast and sweet cherries and figs. Hints of alcohol as this beer warms up. Average mouthfeel and low carbonation. The finish here is a bit sticky. Pretty average overall.

Draft. Poured clear dark brown with average frothy light brown head that lasted with good lscing. Complex roasted malt, spice and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium fruit & spice sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting solid brew.

A: The pour is a dark amber color with a finger of off-white head that has fairly good retention. S: Quite malty and heavy on the bread notes. Lots of toffee with a caramel aroma that is only moderately sweet. Touches of dark fruits are present in the background and there is some yeast there as well. T: Once again, heavy on the bread as you take a few drinks of the beer. Despite a rather modest alcohol content, the beer has an alcohol flavor to it. Fairly heavy on the dark fruits and banana with mild caramel and spices such as clove. M: Medium in body with a smooth level of carbonation. O: Not too shabby for a BJ’s beer. Could have done with a better flavor, but you can’t win ’em all.
