COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BJís Abbey Normalģ is what the Belgianís call a Dubbel (or Double Ale), which is the most popular style of Abbey Ale. This historic beer style is traditionally brewed by Trappist Monks in Belgium. A full-bodied, light brown ale with a fruity flavor profile, the unique bouquet of fruit and spice comes from fermentation with an authentic Trappist yeast.

A clear dark orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with hints of caramel and alcohol. The flavor contains notes of alcohol, yeast, spices, and nutmeg, leading to a dry hoppy end. Not bad, just not interesting.

Had twice now. I have no short term memory ... Pours a dark ruby .. The head is pretty subdued but the lacing is emaculite .. Itís got the dark fruit, whispers of yeast and candi sugar .. Solid mouth but does show some booziness .. Nice belgian .. . . Thatís a paddliní

Pint on tap at BJís. Clear red, slightly brown color. Thin khaki head, leaves some dots and ropes of lace. Good dark fruity aroma, nice influence from the trappist yeast... Good toasty malt, hint of toffee, light earthy hop. Moderate sweet taste, moderate bitter. Some dark whole grain bready malts. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Sort of a slick finish. Solid, easy-drinking, kind of refreshing american dubbel.

On draft at BJís Columbus. Pours a molasses color with an off-white head. Nose is fruit, raisins, some dark malt, and some Belgian yeast. Flavor is similar with some dark fruit, raisins, and Belgian yeast- light in body with lingering fruit on the finish.

Overly sweet (caramel). Amber pour. Minimal head. Average (not bad but nit good). Trappist monks would consider a slap to the face though

I didnít care for this one. It wasnít awful, just below average, especially for the style. Faint malt and Belgian yeast aroma. The color was a light brown, almost like soda. The palate was light and carbonated. The flavors were Belgian; however, not distinctive enough to the Dubbel style. Caramel malts with spiciness and yeast flavors. A one-try for me.
