luckygirl (1221) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 28, 2006
Draught at BJ’s Boulder. Beer poured a hazy medium orange-amber color with an average, frothy, off-white head. The aroma was malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, cookie and caramel; hoppy with moderate notes of resin/pine and grapefruit; yeasty with moderate note of sweat. The flavor was kind of flatlined; Moderately to heavily bitter, lightly acidic with a long, lightly acidic, moderately-to-heavily bitter, grippy finish. The body was light, the texture was watery and the carbonation was average.

On tap at the Boulder brewpub, 4/14/06: Rusty yellow-orange; no head. Subtle aroma, but stark hop-oil oily oil flavor. Nees a little gas and it’d be the heat!

Very slightly hazy gold. The aroma is grapefruity and woody but not overly assertive. Pale malts and earth on the palate. Chewy, full-expressed bitterness. The same old same old, but slightly different.

nice solid ipa...your usual hubub of cascade citrus hops with a punch of grapefruit. not over the top but quite mild and enjoyable to drink. no sticky cloying flavors that most of these malt extract feeling beers have. i drank 4.
