2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KAggie97 (3285) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - JUN 22, 2006
Tap at BJ’s, Webster, TX. Pours brown and cloudy with a nice head of seafoam cream. Aroma is malty with cotton candy in the background. "It splits!," according to my girlfriend. Flavor is root beer. Sarsparilla. Seriously. Palate is thick but leaves a weird, lingering bitter aftertaste with a thin strip of sweetness. Overall, it’s not bad; just a very unexpected flavor. Don’t think I would drink this again.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kidmartinek (1844) - austin, Texas, USA - DEC 7, 2007
This bock was a bit surprising. It was reddish brown in color, small head, and a pleasant aroma. The flavor was not to nutty or malty so it was good. It had good balanced malt flavor, and not taste or burnt, roasted, malt, which is common in worse bocks.

The aroma is sweet with some caramel malt. The appearance is amber with a thin head. The flavor has cardboard, grain husks, honey, and malt. The palate is thin. There really isn’t a whole lot going on here.

Poured clear amber with a nice tan head...smell was faintly malty and nutty...taste was caramel and bitter with resin flavors...interesting but not good and it was way over hopped...
