Brewed with imported Belgian malts and a blend of exotic spices, BJís Grand Cru has a malty character with a whirlwind of fruit and spice flavors. First brewed to celebrate the new milennium, BJís Grand Cru has been a seasonal tradition ever since. This Belgian-style amber ale is bottle-coinditioned and flavorful enough to age in the bottle for many years. Like a fine wine, the beer will change over time as some flavors mellow while others become more pronounced. For optimal aging, we recommend that you store BJís Grand Cru for at least one year at between 55 and 65įF. Or enjoy it now!

Mild alcohol taste with some banana, apple and slight citrus notes. I was amazed at how smooth and easy drinking this was. I am always impressed with BJ's quality.

Boulder, CO (2004): Amber-orange with a slight haze to it. Fruity, alcoholic, grapefruity, vinous and strong-tasting. Had a sharp, orange peel citrusyness to it, too. Not overly complex, but enjoyable.

This stuff is great and it is scary that it is so high in alcohol. Very fruity smell and taste, like apple juice.

This stuff was intense. Solid malty body, backed up with serious spiciness from the corriander and other stuff they put in it. I enjoyed this.

Golden brown with a big head. Smells like men's cologne. Taste sweet and wintery and quite nasty.

golden orangish and transparent with fumes of overly spiced 4th grade cafeteria pumpkin pie..nutmeg and cinnamon and pumpkin flavors breakdancing on an acidic piece of linoleum...kind of gimicky actually...but a nice alcohol warmth..

A nice peppery cardamin smelll, copperish , murky, with a nice lill whit head. Corriander makes a huge presence in the taste.

Clear amber color with a frothy head. Some spices-sage, ginger and all-spice in the aroma. Strong ginger taste and like perfume. Way too much perfume taste.

Never had a Grand Cru before, I was impressed. Cloudy golden in color. Small tight head. Spicey/hop nose. sweet start with a hint of spices. Middle is tingley and "alive" with flavor. Dry finish. Not too shabby.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2005 This beer reminds me of the Grand Cru that Celis (Austin) used to have. It is excellent. Even bought a growler of it. Donít miss this one. A unique beer. Had it @ the BJís in Irvine, CA
