On tap at BJs. Copper brown with a fizzy white head. Pumpkin and malt aroma. Taste of pumpkin and spice. Better than most pumpkin beers, but thatís not saying much.

Had this as a small sample, draft. It definitely has a pumpkin flavor too it. Not sure what else to say about it, but it was definitely good.

Not the worst pumpkin beer Iíve ever had, but still I find them lacking. Perhaps Iím expecting a bit more sweetness to come forward and since it never does, Iím left slightly disappointed. Either way, this wasnít a bad beer at all. Aroma is slightly vegetative, perfumy with enough nutmeg to notice. Appearance is a light amber color, off-white head. Flavor was a bit green, vegetative with some subtle cinammon and nutmeg spices to notice but not overpower. A bit watery, I felt if it were more creamy, with a little more sweetness left in it it could have been better. But, still...not bad.

hazy dark amber, frothy tan head, big cinamon spiced aroma with hints of nutmeg and ginger, sweet flavor like a pumpkin pie with all of the spices and the pumpkin pulp, light bitterness from the spices, well balanced for the style

On tap at the Brea location on 12/3/06: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet cinnamony nutmeg and caramel malt. Body starts with a light sugary caramel maltiness and a pumpkin spice flavor that reminds me of those windmill cookies. Nicely-balanced and enjoyable brew with good use of the pumpkin and spice flavors.

Brea location: Hazy deep amber color with a creamy off-white head. Big aroma of cinnamon and ginget. It smells like a ginger bread cookie. Clove notes as well. The beer tastes like pumpkin pie. It was strong and almost overwhelms on the first sip but then you are ready for it. Not bad.

On tap at the Irvine location. Dark, orangish amber pour, transparent, with a thin layer of wispy beige head. A distinct clove aroma instantly grabs my nostrils, along with a bit of ginger. Some light vanilla and caramels also combine, softening up the gingerbread cookie aroma a bit. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Lots of clove and ginger spice - I wish it had more cinnimon and nutmeg characters to give it a bit of a more traditional pumpkin pie flavor. Its rare that I complain about this aspect of a beer, buts its almost over attenuated. The dry finish makes the ginger and clove seem all the more dominant, which overpowers the caramel malt background a bit. The spices start to get a bit astringent toward the finish. Not a bad beer though - easy drinking, great accompaniment to my meal.
