Orange in color, this seasonal pumpkin ale has been done better by other breweries. Pumpkin is detectable.

This is a pretty solid pumpkin beer that isnít overpowering in the pumpkin. The body is decent but not something I want too much of.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample on tap at the Cincinnati location. Clear yellow orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves decent strings and dots of lace. Good pumpkin - spice nose. Nutmeg, little cinnamon. Smooth lighter carbonation, more dry texture. Lighter body, light pumpkin aroma, more of the spice by swallow. Good savory taste, light spice, little bit of bitter. Respectable pumpkin ale.

Good because the pumpkin and spices were not totally overdone as with most of these types of beers.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Allen, Texas location.
The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of cinnamon notes, as well as some nutmeg and pumpkin. The flavor is a bit different. I get the pumpkin notes once again, but the clove character also really comes through. There is also a good bit of cinnamon in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. My main complaint is that like all beers from BJís, the beer was served way too cold and also in a frozen glass. It needed to warm up for about 10 minutes before the flavors begin to come out.

Reddish orange in color; very little head. Aroma of sugar and pumpkin. Not terribly complex. Sweet, brown sugar notes not as spiced as most pumpkin ales. Very drinkable and quite enjoyable.

BJ's Pumpkin Ale
A- no head. Clear brown w. orange hue. Lots of bubbles, kinda watery looking.
S-Pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, malt sweetness. Smells like Pumpkin Pie.
T-Nice brown ale base with good amount of malt sweetness. This is a rare pumpkin beer that has more pumpkin flavor than cinnamon and nutmeg, which are there and blend very well. Great creamy pie-like flavor.
M- thin to medium with good amount of carbonation. Great creamy pumpkin after taste.
O- Excellent pumpkin flavor, great aftertaste. Easy drinking.
