Iím not a fan of spiced or pumpkin beers, but we were there and we had to give it a try. Often you get a pumpkin beer that is just way way way overspiced and or not aged long enough (like they pump them out the first day of october). Mildly malty and low-hopping make this a very drinkable spice beer. I somehow though managed to find that the aftertaste is reminiscent of celery seed.

Smells like nutmeg and cinnamon and brown sugar. Unfortunately it has the signature butter flavor that I get with many pumpkins but itís actually a pretty good pumpkin ale

The nose on this thing is out of this world. There is a wafting, pillowy scent of cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste is dusted with sugar and flaky hops. The pumpkin here is pronounced without feeling like youíre seed deep in the stuff. Good dichotomy going on. This seasonal ale feels great when stewing in that frothy maw of yours. Awesome after-meal treat.

LIquid Pumpkin Pie! From beginning to end, this looks, smells, and taste like pie, almost unnatural. This uncanny likeness is the only drawback from this beer.

Pumpkin-orange color with minimal off-white head. Aroma is mild earthy and vegetal, spicy and bready. Flavor is light malt, balanced bitterness undertones of pie spice. Finish is smooth and biscuity with a light creamy texture. This is drinkable but not memorable.

On tap at BJs. Nice aroma of pumpkin spice. Pours a nice orange with little head. Taste is a slight bitter spice. Overall nice

5oz taster. Pours clear orange with minimal head. Lovely aroma of pumpkin & nutmeg but the taste is much more subtle. Exceptionally watery mouthfeel. Average-to-below-average pumpkin ale.

Fruity aroma. Fruity malty taste, almost like an American pale ale, but with a subtle pumpkin flavor. Not overtly sweet. Had a five ounce taster of this stuff. This was the íseasonalí beer at the Irvine location in December (BJís has six permanent beers and one seasonal beer on its menu).

Had this as a small sample, draft.
It definitely has a pumpkin flavor too it. Not sure what else to say about it, but it was definitely good.

Smells like pumpkin pie! Nutmeg, pumpkin, spice. Taste is definite pumpkin, malt sweetness, a bit of bitter hoppiness but maybe not enough.
