On tap at the Brea location on 12/3/06: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet cinnamony nutmeg and caramel malt. Body starts with a light sugary caramel maltiness and a pumpkin spice flavor that reminds me of those windmill cookies. Nicely-balanced and enjoyable brew with good use of the pumpkin and spice flavors.

Draft. Rich amber beer with an off-white haed. Pumpkin-pie spice aroma. Pumpkin-pie spice flavor with sweet malt. Medium bodied. Sugary malt lingers with pumpkin pie spices.

Draught. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), with notes of allspice and cinnamon. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery (almost syrupy) texture, lively carbonation. Very attractive spice aroma with a nourishing malt background, just how I like my winter warmers. Just a tad too sweet, as with most of BJs brews, but this is one of the better winter brews I’ve had this year.

Tap at BJs Tampa. 4.7abv Pours amber - orange with white head. Aroma of pumpkin, spices and hops. Taste of pumpkin and light caramel malts with spices - cinnamon. Floral hops give the beer a faint orange mouthfeel. A very decent seasonal pumpkin beer.

On tap Woodland Hills, Ca: Dark copper hue with no head. Huge spicy aroma like many holiday beers, my Aunt's pumpkin pie. Tones of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, mild hops, and roasted malt. Gutwein like spices marry well with medium malt levels. Very light bitterness on finish. No pumpkin taste on palate. Thin-bodied but still slighty chewy, weird. Unique, this style of beer. The spices are a bit too much.

On tap at BJs. Copper brown with a fizzy white head. Pumpkin and malt aroma. Taste of pumpkin and spice. Better than most pumpkin beers, but that’s not saying much.

(draught at Plano location) pours clear orange-yellow with spare head. Nose of pumpkin mash, cinnamon, nutmeg, and star anise. Taste is heavily spiced, cinnamon, raw pumpkin and a faint trace of lager hops. Finishes slightly creamy but also bitter like hairspray. Honest not bad just a little over spiced and pedestrian.

Clear glowing amber with a white head. Big spicy canned pumpkin pie filling aroma. Light body. Strong pumpkin pie spice flavors with little malty or yeasty richness to add body and smooth some of the sharp spicyness. Draft@BJs Plano

quite spicy upfront ... sunset golden orange in colour .. head is average... wonderfully smooth... the nicest pumpkin ale around .. has a delicious little sweetness to it... i really don’t like pumpkin beers but this was good... had the day of the flat-tire incident and the day the Dynamo won the MLS cup for the 2nd time in a row!!... ..if you like spiced beers, give this a try!
