3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy golden orange coloured body with a thin white head. Aroma of strong hops, some caramel and a good malt balance with a bit of citrus tucked in. Medium-bodied; Potent hoppy flavour with some good citrus and almost wheatie characteristics, but a nice malt backbone and some good grapefruit and slightly piney hop character shows well. Overall, a nice IPA for a brewpub and slightly better than you might have expected. However, it isnít sublime and incredible. I sampled this pint on draught at the BJs in Tustin, California with haddon90 on 27-August-2011.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap @ BJs Boulder. Burnt orange appearance with a fluffy ivory head. Pretty piney, bushy hoppy nose. Flavor has a pretty full piney, bushy, organic hoppy flavor over a solid pale to caramel malty body. Somewhat bitter, fairly piney aftertaste.

Really nice hoppy beer. Great looking and the lace ringed the glass all the way to the bottom. Tasty. I wanted another one but had to leave. Sweet, bitter and malty. Yum!

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
16 ounce sample on tap at the Sacramento Natomas location. The bartender told me that this beer used to be called Tempest IPA, but they were forced to change the name. The aroma is super fruity with lots of citrus orange and a little pineapple and mango. Light floral hints present, too. Smells good. Mildly hazy orange-copper body with a medium whitish head and scant lacing. Starts with fruity, orange and citrus hop flavors. Has a bit of a weird maltiness. Did they use rye malt in this? This has some peppery and spicy hints of malts before this finishes herbal with some spicy hop bitterness. Thereís a bit of an underlying sweetness present throughout.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2011 This beer was too bitter and the balance was awful. I was hoping for something a little more tolerable. I enjoy some of BJís house beers however this one did not stand out.
