3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draught at Bjs Rancho. Poured a dark hazy golden color with tiny white head. Aroma was very piney. Taste was somewhat bitter with nice malt balance. I was very surprised by this one for a BJs brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at BJís Tysons Corner. Pours clear amber with a moderate, frothy off-white head. Smells like pine, grapefruit, and resin hops with biscuit, straw malt, and pear. Tastes like strong hop bitterness, sweet malt, and fruity. Dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear copper body with a small fizzy off-white head that retained as a thin film. The nose is balanced evenly between the caramel malt and citrusy hops. The flavor is pretty well the same up front, but the sweet malt wins out towards the finish, and thereís that weird chemical flavor that comes on late in the finish again. This starts out ok, but the finish just ruins it. Medium bodied with a slight cling on the back end. Fizzy prickly carbonation. Pretty boring IPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
"Nice, balanced ipa. Not huge on the hops or bitterness, but the hop profile (while light) was quite complex. Fruity sweet grapefruit, tropical fruit, floral, and pine. Just mellower. Decent malty backbone as well. Not great, but Iíd get again."

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer pours golden brown with minimal head. Right off the bat you can smell the hops. This is one of my favorite IPAs to drink, it is crisp and refreshing, without any bitter after taste.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
BJís Hopstorm is a surprisingly good IPA from a long time brewhouse chain. Strong floral aroma coming from a bright yellow pour with a fluffy white head. Taste is well balanced with a solid malt backbone with an intoxicating mix of floral notes. BJís turns out a top notch IPA that competes with the best.
