Very deep brown. Thin head. Nose of sweet malt and hints of caramel. Coffee and oats on taste. mouthfeel was very full. Nice beer, lacking in some depth, I would say.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at the brewhouse in San Bruno. Pours nicely with a thick head in its pint glass. Aroma was full of oatmeal goodness. Flavor was very nice, but not as strong as i was hoping. Palate was very smooth and left a refreshing aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
5oz sample BJís Cupertino, CA - Bartender told me the tap is 60% CO2 and 40% NO2 - Not sure if it was the "Lastos" but was a special oatmeal stout. Aroma is mild roasted dark malts with some chocolate and coffee. Pours black with a small head and little lacing. Flavor is more pronounced than aroma. Roasted dark malts, oatmeal, creamy mocha and a touch of chocolate. Palate is sticky and creamy. Easy drinking and tasty enough to wash down some pizza.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark, oily opaque body with a small mocha head. Aroma is very roasty and bitter. Flavor is dominated by bitter bakers chocolate and roasted coffee notes. Thereís also a decent hoppiness as well. Finishes dry and tangy. Pretty good.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown with a tan head that fades quickly but leaves a nice speckled lacing behind. Big roasted malt and coffee smell with some pecans in there too. Flavor is watery malt with a slight roasty finish. Super high and unfitting carbonation - almost soda like. Very thin and has an underplayed flavor. Pepsi flavor and palate appear as it warms a little. The smell was so nice I was imagining the taste to be as bold as the smell. But overall, very drinkable and one of the better ones at BJs.

Tap, La Jolla. Pours dark brown with a short tan head that fades fast. Thick aroma of coffee, roasty malt, and oats. Nice smooth taste. Lots of coffee and bittersweet chocolate bite with a good malt back. Kind of dry finish. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at BJís Columbus. Poured dark brown with short head that did not last long. Taste was chocolate and burnt coffee...A very drinkable stout, but not as sweet as I like mine. Barleyís has a much better Oatmeal Stout.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thin watery body. Little flavor even after waiting 15 minutes for it to warm up a little. Very slight nose. Not a very good rendition of one of my favorite styles.
