DarkMagus (412), San Jose, California, USA Feb 19, 2008 On tap at BJ’s in Cupertino, CA. Poured (obviously) a dark blackish brown color, but with very little head. Aromas were lightly sweet and roasty, but not much of anything really. Flavors were unsurprisingly roasty/malty with a very slight hint of sweetness. Nothing to crazy to report. Medium-to-thin bodied, lightly carbonated... maybe this was not the ideal pour...
alexsdad06 (618), Ohio, USA Jul 12, 2008 Tap at Cincy location. Pours dark brown with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is roasted malt with a sweetness from the oatmeal and a hint of chocolate. The flavor is drier than the nose may suggest. Pretty average roasted malt, oatmeal, and a touch of chocolate. Medium bodied, nothing is really jumping out at me with this one. bu11zeye (3628), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 2, 2008 Updated: Jul 6, 2008(Draught) Pours a dark brown body with a small beige head. Dark brown with a tan head that fades quickly but leaves a nice speckled lacing behind. Big roasted malt and coffee smell with some pecans in there too. Flavor is watery malt with a slight roasty finish. Super high and unfitting carbonation - almost soda like. Very thin and has an underplayed flavor. Pepsi flavor and palate appear as it warms a little. The smell was so nice I was imagining the taste to be as bold as the smell. But overall, very drinkable and one of the better ones at BJs.
