COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nutty Brewnette is a unique American-style brown ale. A blend of four different dark malts produces a flavor profile that is sweet with "nutty" notes like Newcastle. But a healthy dose of hops makes this beer hoppier and more balanced than most English brown ales.

Nutty, coffee, gently hoppy aromas. Nice lacing, white head. Mahogany color. Grapefruit, and bitter coffee flavors in the beer, just enough to know it’s there, but not too distracting.

on draft brewpub: this one is nicer then the rates are letting on. or maybe i was just surprised that it was much better then i thought it would be. dark brown, not like newcastle at all, much more nut character and coffee toffees lots of roasted malt here. it says seasonal but its permanantly on the menu and its summer time so i highly doubt it. a decent attempt at a brown ale.

Very dark brown (darker than their porter) with an off-white head. The aroma was sweet and nutty. The flavor was dominated by alcohol and roastiness. Thin feel...wet finish.

When I first tried this I liked it, but now it’s not that great. Kinda bitter with a sweet nutty aroma, pretty smooth, ok.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2007 Draft... Aromas of cashews, chocolate and light coffee. The flavor delivers more chocolate and nuts with a whisper of vanilla. Well-balanced. Light to medium-bodied with medium carbonation. Lengthy, bone-dry finish as with most of their beers.

Like a slightly hoppier, not quite as good copy of Newcastle.

This beer poured a brown color with a nice, fairly thick beige head which lasted for about 45 seconds. The aroma was rich with nuts and sweet caramel malts. There were also roasty tones deep in the aroma which caught my attention. The taste was rich with nuts and sweet stout-like malts..but this wasnt a stout, which made this slightly complex and interesting at the same time. Definitely sweet in the finish with roasted nuts..a tad dry, but not horribly so. A nice beer, but becoming increasingly peppery in the finish and detracting from the taste near the finish. Definitely rogue by the bottom of the glass and thus the knock off on the score.

This brown ale has a deep brown hue topped by a thin head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with notes of nuts and a slight roastiness, however it is very weak. The flavor is very similar to the aroma but is more pronounced and has a bit more roastiness. Medium bodied and tingly from the carbonation, yet relatively smooth.
