2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear brown with a neat 1" head, swirls and streaks of lace. Meek malt flavor moves through the palate without asserting anything, finally arriving at a thin, oily finish. Very average.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour on tap at the brewpub, dark reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of slight watery cardboard, grain, slgiht caramel, toffee and nutty notes, hints of spice and grass. Taste was grain, biscuit, slight caramel, nuts, touch of spice, slight grass and pine hop, finishing sweet and watery.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear brown with creamy tan cap and good lace. Aroma is nice nutty caramel and toffee. Taste follows, hint of bitter hop back, but nice balance. This is probably the best bet I had from them.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy brown colored beer with a slightly off white head. Faint aromas of toasted grains and not much else. Tastes of watery coffee, some toasted malts, earthy flavors, some woody/nutty notes, and muted, dark chocolate. Finish is surprisingly hoppy for the style. Watery and a bit bland for the style. Forgettable.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a clear brownish gold color. The aroma is nutty with caramel malt, and hops. The flavor is like the aroma but with paper, grain husks, and toast. This one did have a nuttiness to it but the flavors here donít seem to work. An all around bland brown.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at BJís Huntington Beach. My favorite of the brews from the 8 samples I had, and maybe the only one I would order again. Pleasant nuttiness, a bit woody, and an excellent palate. Not a lot of head.
