COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A great everyday beer that’s smooth and not too hoppy or bitter. Easy drinking and fresh tasting, fairly low in alcohol but full of delicious malty flavor.

its not bad, but its bland, like most of the BJs offerings. hard to believe its a ale, its so dull its like a lager almost. why even bother, BJs?

A BJ’s seasonal, available March-April (according to the BJ’s website), this light amber ale has a reddish orange in color, clear-bodied but dark with a thin white head that’s almost pink in hue above the red beer. The aroma is very much like a caramelesque bock, light on the nose but with a touch of burnt sweetness atop the almost lager-like, earthy but spicy hop and yeast characteristics. It’s light-bodied, but with a weight we can blame on residual, unfermentable sugars from the caramel malts that give enough of a body to make this more palatable. There is a very floral, almost perfume-like flavor that presents itself mostly in the finish. But once you notice it... it’s obvious enough to give the beer a steer in a different direction. Although it’s relatively thin, it has a fullness in the throat and in the belly. Overall, its a moderately full flavored amber for as this and low in gravity as this is. And best of all, the lager-like bockiness wears off pretty quickly. Although enjoyable, it’ll probably disappoint if you’re expecting a thicker, sweeter, traditional amber ale.

Very over attenuated. All that is left is a pale color, same as Yuengling, flavor is almost nothing, like an un sweetened iced tea with subtle hints of nail polish.

Tap at bj’s Plano. Pours a rich amber with a thin off white head. The aromas are nuts, bread. The mouthfeel is watery and slightly bready with a medium body and decent carbonation.

On tap at New Braunfels location. Pours a cloudy amber with a small frothy off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is caramel and raisin. Thib mouthfeel with a sweet caramel malt and metallic in the finish. Easy to dibk a decent amber from BJs.
