This traditional seasonal lager has a malty, toasty character with a mild hop bitterness in the finish. Amber in color, medium-bodied and very smooth from a long lagering process.

This one was good - a good malty marzen that was a bit light on flavor, but still carried enough malt taste that it went great with my meal.

Sampled on draft at the Short Pump location. Poured medium towards dark amber, nice white head. Aroma focused on caramel malts. Flavor matched, caramel and a bit toasty, a touch sweeter than expected. Hint of teutonic floral hops, but faint. Not bad, wish it had been drier.

On tap at the Fort Collins location. Clear bronze appearance with a patchy white head. Toffee, caramel malt and light butterscotch aroma. Hints of toasted grain and noble hop spice in the flavor. Medium plus sweetness with a hint of bitterness. Unbalanced, not bad though.

12FL OZ ($ ???) had this with my meal, was pretty good but I did switch to the IPA when it was done. Good beer but not very close to the real deal.

Draft at the Tanforan location near SFO airport. Rich malt, with a beautiful clear amber with slight tan head that lingered. Taste was moderate malt with medium full mouthfeel from nice roundness. Very slight floral background. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this!

Wife ordered this draft at the Frederick, MD location, served in a pils glass. Clear orangy-amber color with white head. Aroma of grainy roasted malt. Taste adds some nuttiness and maybe brown sugar. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Pretty one dimensional but does the job.
