Holy Mackerel99 (17), USA Nov 6, 2001 I really enjoy this ale.
For hopheads only? I don’t think so.
Excellent fruity aroma and taste.
Not bitter, nice aftertaste.
ansermadide (196), Kyle, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 BJ’s Piranha Pale has a great head... a very cabonated pale amber color. Its aroma is sweet, its flavor pale and sweet, reminds me of a Sprite. A light trace of hops. A light body, but not watery. Tastes almost metallic. Alright, all in all. The bartender just brought out my fries. Awesome! Heavy, but sticky lacing. Not too bad of a mouthfeel. Bradrcr (606), Renton, Washington, USA Aug 31, 2008 7/21/08 On draught at the Tukwila, Wa Brewpub. Aroma is c-hop dominant with a low caramel balance. Appearance is clear gold with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is fairly sour citrus hops forward, well balanced by sweet malt. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderate carb texture. Overall, easy drinking, and just a little starchy. punkeedo (378), San Antonio, Texas, USA Aug 30, 2008 2008 Tap. I’m not sure what makes an "American" pale ale, but this could pass as a decent IPA. The "bite" of the hops makes Piranha an appropriate name. Smells of hops and citrus. Looks cloudy orange with little head. Tastes of hops and wheat, very balanced palate. Worth a shot. jlf278 (229), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Aug 26, 2008 One of the better tastes in the 7 flight. I liked the citrus and pine in the aroma and flavor. It was a pretty good experience, despite a little thinness in the palate and a very slightly dirty taste. Aurelius (2469), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 25, 2008 Sunny, standard APA piney/grapefruit aroma. A weird mish-mash hoppiness. Seltzer-y. Lost between a blonde APA and... I’m not sure.
