COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This robust dark ale is surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Caramel, molasses and chocolate flavors fill the palate. Its sweet start is perfectly balanced by a roasted dry finish.

Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, coffee, roasted grain), with a note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very nice for a nitro-poured beer...if only theyíd leave this 100% CO2 (or as an option, like Mountain Sun does with Java Porter), it might be an upper 3ís kinda brew.

while there are better porters out there, i liked it better than the stout (which i gave a 3.0). more flavor, roasted mocha, touch of hops. not bad."

Not much to say about this, except that itís a pretty average porter. Nothing wrong with it; slightly thin. At BJís Corona, CA.

kramer (5034) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Clear dark brown body with a small creamy light brown head. The nose is fairly dry and roasty with some burnt notes. The flavor is showing a bit of burnt rubber in there thatís not all that pleasant. Some light coffee and roast notes, doesnít really come off as a porter really. Light to medium bodied with the usual creamy nitro feel. Not the best.

Decent porter. Seems to be a lighter version of their stout. Slight roasted aroma. Dark brown that when placed next to the Tatonka stout looks virtually the same. Lighter palate than expected. Rich roasted character with some nut and woodsy essence. OK beer.

Draft @ BJís. Nice dark color, and good chocolatey flavor. Medium palate. Really good beer.

Decent porter. BJ is about food n pizookie. Beer is extra AND the addition of craft taps says it all. Wish they were in North Jersey.

Poured a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma of light chocolate and roast. Flavor was similar, bland and watery.

On tap at BJís Fort Collins. Appearance: cascading finger of chocolate head, cloudy brown color. Aroma: chocolate, light roast, nutty. Palate: full body, smooth and velvety texture, soft carbonation, light alcohol warming. Taste: sweet throughout with lightest bitter on finish; sweetness is not overpowering. Overall, little under complex on the nose for me, but still very nice and great palate and appearance.

Draft. Very average porter, body is a little thin as are flavors. Served too cold, but I allowed to sit and warm a bit, but it didnít improve too much. Better choices available.
