Holy Mackerel99 (17), USA Nov 6, 2001 A nice porter. Shot with nitrogen for
a nice creamy,but minimal head.
It is a bit thin in the mouthfeel department,
but overall a nice roasty porter.
ansermadide (196), Kyle, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 BJ’s PM Porter has an amazingly carbonated edge, but no active carbonaton. Deep, dark solid color, between that of a brown and stout. Heavy, stable light brown head, its aroma more like a brown than a porter (at first), but gently introduces you into the proper style with a bitter, malty aroma. Taking its first sip, m mouth fills with half suds and half brew. I again detect something metallic, but bitter. Something in it, though, reminds me of a barleywine. Weird. Is that hops? Nope, whatever it is, it reminds me more of liquor. Man, they could do with playing better music here. redgold07 (297), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours an opaque dark black color with a small head. Aroma is roasted coffee and a little chocolate. Flavor is caramel and chocolate. Drinks creamy, but dry at the same time.
On tap, BJ’s Lewisville. Bradrcr (606), Renton, Washington, USA Aug 31, 2008 7/21/08 On draught at the Tukwila, Wa Brewpub. Aroma is creamy roast, but very very light. Appearance is very dark brown wih a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is very sweet roast forward, milky, with no bittering; a little tough to get down. Mouthfeel is very creamy with almost no carb texture. Overall, very weak. jlf278 (229), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Aug 26, 2008 An okay, but unappealing porter. Had a decent amount of coffee, but a little sweet in an unpleasant way. Not sure I’d call it surprisingly smooth and drinkable, but was a nice addition to the 7 taster flight. Aurelius (2469), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 25, 2008 Nice, dark malty aroma. Phenolic, creosote, sweet coffee. Thin body, under-carbonated. Sugary, thin finish.
